When you grow up, and you’re born different to everyone else around you, you learn early on to embrace the differences. To accept who you are, be whoever you want to be and learn to love yourself.  However, there’s always that aspect of you that wishes you didn’t have to suffer the pain anymore. You’ll always be petrified that you’ll have to go through it again, because life just isn’t that certain. Anything can happen. When I was a young girl, I had major operations that severely altered my life and all of my family’s life. Our lives revolved around my wellbeing and making sure I wasn’t in pain or going to get any worse. I can’t imagine how hard that must have been for my parents, to watch their daughter go through what I did. I didn’t see what I went through, I lived it. I have a completely… View Post

It isn’t hard to find a women that inspires, and it usually starts from home. I’m so lucky to have grown up with inspiring women all around me and it has shape who I am today. I continue to be surrounded by women who are doing outstanding things with their lives and spurring me on to do the same. The new friendships I make are different now, it’s not based on interests – it’s based on Ethos. Take my friend Laura, our interests aren’t so similar (fashion, music etc) but we both strive to be successful, strong women and will support our friends to no end. We will do anything for them. In the past I have been burned by a lot of friendships and I now know who is worth putting effort into, and who isn’t. The blogging community has connected me with a lot of fantastic women but… View Post

Sometimes it’s hard to accept that your world is changing so quickly around you and that there’s nothing you can do about it. I’m currently going through that period of my life where I’m not a teenager anymore and I have to start figuring my life out. I’m faced with real problems and having to find real solutions, ones school most definitely did not prepare me for. Recently I experienced a loss of someone so incredibly close to my heart, a woman who has had a significant part in my life and many others. She has added more value to my life than I could ever have wished for, and taught me valuable things about life. I miss her so much and it’s made me see life through different eyes. It’s hard to comprehend a life without her and I find daily I will go to message her things, or… View Post

The domino effect, I imagine you’re all rather familiar with it and how it works. It can be applied to a lot of things and social media is definitely one of those. I’m a digital influencer, I have followers on the Internet who watch what I do, keep up with where I’m going and the products that I’m buying. They’re interested, value my opinion and like keeping up with my life. Just as I like doing that about others too. I feel like the Internet is moving away from the traditional celebrity culture and more towards the Instagram/Blogger culture. That’s a whole different post though. I’ll not sugar coat it here, the more people that read my blog, follow my Instagram etc, the more I get paid and the better opportunities I get. It’s really that simple. That means I have to post content that I’m happy with, I would… View Post

Hello there! I thought I’d give you all a little life update, as I don’t really do it that often on my blog. Well, I’ve been pretty busy recently which is why I haven’t posted as often. A lot has happened! In May I left Gateshead College (Sad times!) and came out with all distinctions in my Business Management course. I was pretty gutted to leave but I’ve been  back since and still keep in touch with many of the amazing staff members that have made my time at Gateshead College so special. Oh, did I mention I have another blog now?! Oh yes. I now run a little segment for Gateshead College on their website, you can check it out here: Katie’s Blog – Gateshead College. I’m pretty proud of it and really enjoying writing for them. Gateshead College also included me in their segment of the Journal newspaper, you… View Post
