The domino effect, I imagine you’re all rather familiar with it and how it works. It can be applied to a lot of things and social media is definitely one of those. I’m a digital influencer, I have followers on the Internet who watch what I do, keep up with where I’m going and the products that I’m buying. They’re interested, value my opinion and like keeping up with my life. Just as I like doing that about others too. I feel like the Internet is moving away from the traditional celebrity culture and more towards the Instagram/Blogger culture. That’s a whole different post though. Whilst scrolling through this platform, it becomes more noticeable that bloggers are receiving just as many followers as celebrities. And all of this comes down to the posts that they’re creating; they seem to be aimed more at the type of audience that Instagram has. Sometimes these bloggers may decide to get free instagram followers to help increase the number of users that follow their account. This will then allow them to compete with the celebrities that use the platform. I think everyone would love to have as many followers as they can get, as this comes with plenty of benefits. I’ll not sugar coat it here, the more people that read my blog, follow my Instagram, etc, the more I get paid and the better opportunities I get. It’s really that simple. That means I have to post content that I’m happy with, I would want to see myself and that other people want to see. I have to keep it good quality, fun and to my ‘brand’. It’s hard work and at the moment, I’m not really keeping on top of it that well. Encouragement keeps me going and praise from others. This leads me to the whole point of this post…
One like. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get the domino effect in full swing.
Imagine this, you’re scrolling through Instagram at 10pm while you’re in bed, you like a photo of a cute flatlay from this amazing blogger you follow. Your friend who follows you sees that you’ve liked it from their ‘Explore’ feed and it captures their attention, they like it and follow the account and so on. That’s how it works, it truly is that simple. Of course, sharing, commenting and general word of mouth help a great amount too but it all factors in. Every. Single. Like.
Just remember next time you’re sat in bed, scrolling along… You have the power to support your friends and it’s immeasurable how much digital influencers appreciate your engagement and support. It really does mean the world to us and we DO notice. To everyone who supports me, comments on my photos and shares my content when I need a little boost – you’re the best. I’ll never forget your help and I’ll always be there to help you out when you need it. One of my friends actually told me about how I can check my instagram dms online the other day. Now that I can check my messages from most of my devices in the house, it means that I’m more available to respond to any DMs from my followers. So any help you guys need, send an Instagram message! Instagram really has us all connected!
To my friends who are reading this, interact. Let me know you’re there and that you care about what I do! (If you don’t and you’re just nosy, that’s fine too…)
