Movenpick Boutique Metrocentre

In the heat of the summer, there’s only a few things that can truly cool us down but also satisfy our taste buds in the process. One of those being the beloved ice cream, it’s by far my favourite food and I could eat it daily (and sometimes do). Which is why I was so excited when I was invited along to an ice cream tasting session at Movenpick Boutique in Intu Metrocentre. It was a dream come true for me and I practically jumped at the chance to spend the morning eating ice cream. Yeah that’s right, morning. It’s never too early for ice cream.

Set in a lovely boutique-style unit in the heart of the Cube in the Metrocentre, Movenpick is definitely the on the luxe spectrum of ice cream and desserts. They offer a range of different ice creams, sorbets, desserts and coffees. Including chocolate fondue, pancakes, crepes and waffles. Honestly, I was in heaven.

At the start of the tasting session, Macara and I were blindfolded and asked to identify some flavours purely from their smell. Caramel, cinnamon, pistachio and strawberries were a few. This task was so Ellen could identify which flavours we may enjoy and ones we may not, judging by how we react to the smell. It was interesting to learn a little bit more about the ice cream and flavours at this point. No surprise my favourite was White Chocolate and Caramel. Ellen then made us each a sundae that she thought we would enjoy and we got to enjoy a taste of an ice cream of our choice. Macara and I ate so much ice cream that day, we really did try almost every flavour.

My favourite flavours out of the ones I tried were the White Chocolate, Caramelita, Raspberry Sorbet, Espresso and Creme Brulee. There are so many choices to choose from, there’s a flavour for everyone. All cones are made fresh in store on the day, the quality is outstanding. I’m already counting down until I can go back and get another scoop of the Sorbet! On a hot summers day like today, it really is refreshing.
