Ah, Summer, it’s a ritual, isn’t it? Buying new clothes and having a sneaky little splurge in the shops. Living in the North East, we get about a week of sun so I don’t tend to splurge THAT much on Summer clothes but this year is different. It’s been gorgeous weather for two weeks now so it’s time for a little wardrobe refresh as my clothes from last year have been thrown away.
Being young, at 21, my style changes every year, evolving into different tastes and as my body changes, my wardrobe needs to also. I’ve put on weight, my hips are wider… All things that are constantly changing and I need my wardrobe to reflect that.
I was delighted when Intu Metrocentre invited me along to their VIP Fashion Show to see the newest additions to the SS17 collection on the high street. There were many brands taking part in the fashion show, including Primark, Topshop, Coast, Kath Kitson and more. I usually shop at Topshop, Asos, Mango, Zara and Miss Selfridge. My style completely depends on my mood. Growing up, I was pretty grunge and that element of my style has always stayed with me. I also have a girly aspect to my style, and I love to wear pink, frills and classic clothes. My style icons are Lily Collins, Freddy My Love and Marina and the Diamonds.
The event made me ready to hop on a plane and jet away to the Bahamas. Cocktails, burritos, flamingos and even a paddling pool filled with Show Beauty goodies. After sipping on a cocktail and chatting away to my friends, the show began. The clothes were wonderful. I thought I’d share with you some of my favourites…
So there we have it! Summer 2017, what’s your favourite style? That yellow Karren Millen dress is my favourite, with a tan it will look killer. Now… I need to go shopping.
