Another title I could use for this blog post is ‘How to be a glowing, contoured goddess’ because that is the look you will achieve if you use these products. They are luxe, beautiful and incredibly effortless to use.
The number one people say to be about contour, no matter where it is, is ‘I don’t know how to contour’. I think it’s something people overthink quite a lot, and that if they do it properly they will magically turn into a YouTube beauty guru with filters galore. That’s not real life. Or what contour is about. It’s not about looking like a different person, it’s just about creating shadows to give the illusion of a slimmer, more chiselled face.
The Hollywood Contour Wand is a gel-like texture, a gorgeous cool toned contour that is thin and blends effortlessly. The product is not overly pigmented and has almost a translucent sheer, just like a shadow does. If you want contour that is natural, defining and shad0w-like, this is your product.
I really do want to give a special mention to the contour wand, it is the only contour product that has EVER worked on me without going patchy or not blending. Now, this isn’t the fault of the products I’ve been using but on the left hand side of my face, my skin is thin due to surgery. So thank you, Charlotte, for creating a product that works on my face!
The Hollywood Beauty Light Wand is a gorgeous gel/liquid highlight. It is a soft, silver champagne colour that will leave you glowing but fresh-faced and beautiful. It is a subtle highlight that can easily be built up to be a blinding, gorgeous glow. I love this product, but yet again I love more or less everything I’ve tried from Charlotte Tilbury.
Charlotte has also brought out her own highly anticipated line of liquid lipsticks. If anyone told me this trend would last so long, I’m not quite sure I would have believed you. The world has truly fallen head over heels for the liquid formula but I can see why. After testing many formulations and finding the ones that work for me, I’m in love with them too. I do still prefer the original formula of Charlotte’s bullet lipsticks but I love the longevity and colour payoff of her Hollywood Lips. I have two colours, Charlotte Darling and Screen Siren. I bought Screen Siren after I took these photos, so I haven’t photographed it yet, but keep an eye out on my Instagram for a feature. It’s a gorgeous red.
Charlotte Darling is not too far from her gorgeous Pillow Talk shade. The cult favourite. It is a beautiful nude pink and is my go-to liquid lipstick shade. Especially with a little pop of gloss over the top. The bottle design is sleek and classy, something you will get from every single product Charlotte designs. I love that her collections are never too far away from her normal line and that it is the same quality throughout. I hate trashy packaging on a product and I will admit it can often be the deciding factor in buying a product or leaving it on the shelf.
The formula itself lasts a long time, doesn’t crumble or wear off in awkward places which is what I love. It’s comfortable to wear, even coming from someone with extremely dry lips. I love a glossy lip so a clear gloss over the top of this works well for me. I’d happily purchase other colours from the line and look forward to trying out a lot more from Charlotte Tilbury in the future. I’d love to try the Magic foundation, Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette and her new Instant Eye Palette looks divine!
The last product I want to mention today is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Complexion Brush. The perfect partner for both the contour and highlight and the soft bristles will ensure a perfect blend every time. It is a high-quality brush that will truly change the way your makeup blends. I use it every day and I couldn’t be without it now, a must have for your makeup bag.
It’s no secret that Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favourite makeup brands. Everything that is brought out is of a high standard, impeccable quality and gorgeous packaging. It is luxe, makes you feel effortlessly beautiful and chic. If you haven’t tried Charlotte Tilbury before, what are you waiting for?!
